The Best Laid Plans of Mice and (Wo)men….

Like so many I had lofty plans for 2020, not the least of which was to contribute regularly to this space. Ha…how adorable was that?
That was in the “before times.” Surviving a global pandemic has hampered those efforts significantly. Now, in 2021, I’m trying to be realistic about my capacity which seems to ebb and flow in unpredictable ways, so bear with me as I attempt to catch a stride.
I did want to take a moment to share updates on my practice. I am currently without a physical location and continue to provide services exclusively through HIPAA-compliant teletherapy platforms. A year in and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how almost seamlessly we (my clients and I) have transitioned into this space. It’s not ideal, and not necessarily a replacement for in-person sessions, but it has allowed for a continuity in service and accessibility that we have not previously had. I have high hopes that insurance companies will continue to support teletherapy after this crisis has subsided to increase access for all, but that’s a soap box I need not step onto right now.
As soon as I have a new space, I will update this site. In the meantime, wish me luck as I attempt to share noteworthy thoughts, links, information, etc. Let’s try this again, shall we?
